Final major project: Construction technologies and materials

For my project I want to focus on an eco friendly and sustainability in the phase of construction I will use single direction plates or reversible plates, reversible plates can move forwards and backwards which makes them a more practical choice for large areas (Speedy Hire, no date). I will also use smooth drum rollers machine which use electricity as source of power, those machine will help me to compact the soil. Soil compaction is necessary to increase the bearing capacity and stiffness of in-situ (natural state) or chemically modified soils. Compaction increases the shear strength of soils by adding friction from the interlocking of particles (Team, N. 2020)

Because Zambia is a country where it rains a lot, the soil will have irrigation system because I am working on a eco-friendly and sustainable solution. 

Construction of Sand base

For construction in Zambia, the most widely used rocks are granite (igneous), limestone and sandstone (sedimentary), and marble (metamorphic). Masonry consists of building structures from single units that are laid and bound together with mortar. Brick, stone and concrete blocks are the most common materials used in masonry construction.
