Major project: Initial ideas

For this term my first idea is a park because I would like to incorporate nature in my project. I want nature to be at the center of my architectural design. I want my project to be eco-friendly and for that my inspiration is Carl Theodor Sorensen who is one of the most famous landscape architect of the 20th century. he is my inspiration  because all his projects are eco-friendly

The Oval Community Garden is one of his most prominent projects and I like it because the composition of the garden is beautifully made in oval shapes which are not organised in a particular disposition.  it is more randomly organised. Each slot being made of grass as wall limiting is an amazing sustainable idea to conserve nature and make the most out of it.

My second idea is to create a playground out of eco-friendly material. so that the children will play in a safe environment without any worries from parents. an example of eco-friendly material will be wood, bamboo, stainless steel and recycled plastic.

SketchUP landscape design SketchUp is a really handy software for landscape architects and designers who want to create playground designs. It has many useful features and advantages that are specifically designed to meet their requirements. Here are some reasons why SketchUp is a great option for for this task: 1. Beginners and professionals alike can easily navigate the workspace and utilise the simple tools. Even if you are new to it, you can quickly grasp the basics and start creating 3D models without any difficulties. 2. 3D modelling capabilities SketchUp is great at creating detailed 3D models. It helps designers visualise playground layouts, equipment, and landscaping elements in a realistic three-dimensional space. The software has precise modelling to...

Ideas Development - The Object lesson

For this task, we continued developing the initials idea we worked on last week to make them stronger. To do that we chose objects to help us expand our Ideas. The first step was to observe the object and answer questions such as "what does it make me think of" "does it have texture" " how can I adapt it to my initial idea". Then the second step was to write down all the associations with the object.  I chose two objects for this exercise which were a ceramic house and an old piece of wood.  The ceramic house displayed a visually textured yet smooth surface, embellished with vivid colours that produced a unique splashing effect. In contrast, the weathered piece of wood, aged and covered in a layer of sand, exhibited the enduring marks of time. I wrote down what these two objects made me think of and tried to develop my ideas based on them.
