Welcome to Art Portfolio 2

Welcome to the second term of art portfolio. This term is exciting because we are working on a larger project on which we will be collaborating with each other as we are recreating a town. To start off, we are initiating this term with the creation of this welcome post. Looking back at the challenges in the previous term, I struggled with time management which I intend to work on, in order to get feedback from my tutor to improve the quality of my project. I am also dedicated to increase the frequency of my blogs updates for more consistent sharing of my progress throughout the term. I want to explore more 3D softwares and improve my hand-drawing skills throughout this term. I am looking forward to……

Eunine Fay Jones - Research

E. Fay Jones was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, USA on January 31, 1921. He spent his childhood in the rural Ozark Mountains, where he gained love for nature and the environment, which had an impact on his architectural designs later in life. Multi-faith centres and religious spaces

Multi-faith  centres are inclusive spaces that encourage dialogue, understanding, and collaboration among people from various religious backgrounds. They   provides a space where people of differing religious beliefs can spend time in contemplation or prayer  (Center for Architecture, 2023) .  These spaces promote diversity and unity through shared values and interfaith harmony. They provide a neutral setting for worship, dialogue, and community-building, contributing to inclusivity. The significance of these centres in promoting inclusivity and diversity lies in their celebration of diverse religious traditions and encouragement of interaction among different faiths. Ideas Development - The Object lesson

 For this task, we continued developing the initials idea we worked on last week to make them stronger. To do that we chose objects to help us expand our Ideas. The first step was to observe the object and answer questions such as "what does it make me think of" "does it have texture" " how can I adapt it to my initial idea". Then the second step was to write down all the associations with the object.  I chose two objects for this exercise which were a ceramic house and an old piece of wood.  The ceramic house displayed a visually textured yet smooth surface, embellished with vivid colours that produced a unique splashing effect. In contrast, the weathered piece of wood, aged and covered in a layer of sand, exhibited the enduring marks of time. I wrote down what these two objects made me think of and tried to develop my ideas based on them.
